1998 New York City Marathon
| I live in Brooklyn near where the world's most famous marathon
comes flashing by. What makes my location even more interesting is that the women and men
run on separate sides of the avenue, so it is possible to see the leaders of each running
together. The NYC Marathon has developed into a real 'scene'; millions of New Yorkers of
all races, backgrounds, and incomes get out on the street together to cheer on the
world-class runners as well as their friends, relatives, and countrymen.
