Denton Taylor's World Trade Center Photos

In 1973, I was living in Willoughby Walk, Fort Greene Brooklyn, on the 15th Floor, facing Manhattan. I saw the towers go up.

In 2001, I was living in Park Slope Brooklyn, with a roof deck facing Manhattan. September 11th I saw the towers come down.

I have divided this gallery into three sections. The first section is the towers in happy times, dominant and loved features of the NYC skyline. The second section is photos taken during the attacks. And the third section is devoted to the aftermath; memorials to the fallen.

If you see a photo that moves you, please order a print. Here's why. As you know, hundreds of millions of dollars have been donated by generous Americans to the families of the victims. But there are specific small groups of victims who have not yet been helped.

The men and women who manage and maintain New York's office buildings belong to Local 94 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Four of them lost their lives that day. Their names are Vito Deleo, John Griffin, Charles Magee, and David Williams. All were fathers. All were killed helping others escape, and we will never know how many lives they saved.

$25 from every print sold will be donated to to the Local 94 Disaster Relief  Fund. This ALSO applies to any photo on my website in which the WTC is visible. (The Brooklyn Bridge series, for example). Click here for details on print ordering.

If you would like to make an additional donation please send a check to:
